Brown Eggs.

Is it just me or do brown eggs taste better? Well one thing is for sure, they sure make a pretty picture in a thrift shop beautiful dish. By the way I think I paid fifty cents for the dish at Goodwill and it is sitting on a lazy susan I bought at the flea market last summer, painted and put some french words on it.

Welcome to the Family!

I don't know how much you all know about cattle but when a new baby is born it's kind of like the Welcome Wagon. All the cows come to see and smell and protect the little one. It's one of the sweetest things you will ever see. This little girl was born last Saturday, Richard and I were checking on them Sunday and I just happened to be there at the right time. We had caught her to ear tag her and when she bawled here they all came to protect her. These cows you see around her are all young heifers, her Mom is standing back just watching. They smell and nuzzle her and I think tell her they are here if she needs protection. It's really pretty touching. I wish you all could see this in person, it's really incredible. I love Farm Life!

Let me tell you a secret! Will you be my Valentine?

This sweet baby of ours telling the other sweet baby a secret. Take note of the heart around his eye. I believe it is for Valentine's Day. These two calves were born on the same day two weeks ago, they are one week old in the picture and best friends. We brought both of them to the house to warm them up, in fact I used my blow dryer on the black and white one. They are still in the barn because it has been so cold but are doing fine. I will put more pictures on later this week of them.
