Miracle of Birth

It's always a joy for me to get to witness a birth of a new baby calf. This one just born when we got there. Still wet and Mom starts talking to it and making noises. She is saying I'll dry you off little one and then you get up and eat. And he does. This is a registered Short Horn cow and she was bred to a registered Hereford Bull. This is what we got from that combination. A handsome little fella indeed! Have I mentioned I love farm life?

Snowing some more and cold in Central Missouri! Feeding Cattle and my three sheep. Full time job in this weather.

Yes that is what I will call my cooking show! I am always cooking something and here are a few of my recent dishes. I really should have a cooking show but don't know if my audience could handle some of the mistakes I make in my kitchen but it usually turns out pretty good. A Warm Sunny day and Napping with Mom

Finally a warm sunny day and this little one is trying to take a nap with Mom until we woke her up. Isn't she cute?

Bath Time

As I was standing at my kitchen window the other day I saw this Momma cow giving her baby a bath so of course I grabbed my camera with the long lens. Ever so gently she gave the little one a bath. Nothing like that Momma love! I love farm life.

Double Trouble

From the looks on these two faces I can see they are looking to get into some trouble. No really, aren't they sweet? I wish I could hug them but unfortunately after the first couple of days I can forget that. So I will just have to settle for being able to look at them and talk to them in the field.
